Bobi Wine Denounces Abduction of NUP Security Head Achileo Kivumbi
Bobi Wine, the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has strongly condemned the recent violent abduction of Achileo Kivumbi, the head of security at the NUP headquarters. The incident occurred on the evening of August 1, 2024.
Apparently, several heavily armed men, moving in a Noah Reg. No. UAP 164P trailed him and manhandled him as he approached his home. They immediately started beating him up as they dragged him into the vehicle and drove away. His pleas to inform his family members fell on deaf ears. He has been taken to an unknown destination. We do not know what state he is in right now given what onlookers describe as an extremely violent abduction. The criminal regime continues to violate every human right there is in the book
According to Bobi Wines update on X, Kivumbi was approached by several heavily armed men while nearing his home. The men, traveling in a Noah vehicle with registration number UAP 164P, forcibly seized Kivumbi and began to assault him. Despite his desperate pleas to contact his family, his requests were ignored. He was then dragged into the vehicle and driven away to an unknown location.
The circumstances of Kivumbi’s current condition remain unclear. Witnesses describe the abduction as extremely violent, raising serious concerns about his well-being. Bobi Wine has criticized what he views as a continued pattern of human rights violations by the current regime.
