Rukungiri, Uganda Youth in Rukungiri District have been urged to adopt a positive mindset and aim high in order to build better futures for themselves and their communities.

This message was delivered today by Hon. Annah Nuwagaba Tumuramye, an aspiring Woman Member of Parliament for Rukungiri District, while addressing supporters during her campaign rally at Butinde Trading Centre in Nyeibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub-County. Hon. Nuwagaba encouraged the youth to focus on personal development by setting ambitious goals and moving away from limiting beliefs.

She emphasized that changing one’s mindset is the first step toward achieving lasting success. “Mindset change is key for the youth to realize their full potential. You must believe in yourselves and work hard to achieve your dreams,” she said.

She also advised young people to engage in economic empowerment initiatives such as forming Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) to help them save and invest, even with small amounts of money they earn. “Start where you are, with what you have. SACCOs are a practical tool to build financial discipline and grow your income through collective efforts,” she added.

Hon. Nuwagaba further urged the youth to embrace love, unity, and friendship, calling them the foundation of peaceful and progressive communities.

In her pledge to the electorate, she promised to be a strong advocate for the youth if elected. She committed to lobbying for improved access to vital opportunities such as government scholarships and youth-focused development programs.
