Nyendo-Mukungwe MP Hon Mathias Mpuuga is not ready to put aside his grievances with his former leader, Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine. The MP disclosed how the NUP head transitioned into a film actor after they entrusted him with the responsibility to lead their efforts to unseat President Museveni.
While addressing a small group of congregants at his home, Mpuuga stated that it has never been Bobi Wine’s aspiration, nor a goal of his, to bring about change in the nation. He was merely taking risks, but that gamble did not succeed, and Mpuuga is certain that Kyagulanyi will not be seen again after the upcoming general elections.
Furthermore, the Parliamentary Commissioner mentioned that he and his colleagues have always aimed to improve the lives of their constituents. This is why they have managed to bring about significant changes in Masaka within just three years. Thus, if they are granted just one more year in power, he is confident they can make positive impacts.
Mpuuga also pointed out that Kyagulanyi chose to produce a documentary on the struggles of the people for his own gain. He noted that even during the recently concluded Kawempe by-election, Kyagulanyi’s camp has been filming the second episode of his movie.
“We entrusted him with the mission to lead us in changing the government, but he decided to act out a film regarding the people’s struggles. I can assure you that during the Kawempe by-election, he was shooting the second episode of his film. This was never his ambition to initiate change. He was just taking risks that ended in failure, and I assure you that he will be absent after the next elections. For us, the main objective has always been to enhance the lives of our people,” Mpuuga stated.
It is important to note that the two politicians have been trading insults ever since Mpuuga was expelled from the party due to allegations of financial misconduct. The ousted politician did not take the insult lightly and has since set up his People Power replica known as the Democratic Alliance.
