The English Premier League (EPL) title race has intensified early in the 2024-25 season, with Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal closely contesting the top positions after just seven matches since the season kicked off in August. Liverpool currently leads the table with 18 points, followed closely by Manchester City and Arsenal, each with 17 points after the weekend’s matches.

In a thrilling encounter at Selhurst Park on Saturday, Diogo Jota scored the only goal of the match, securing a vital win for Liverpool against Crystal Palace. This victory ensured that Liverpool, under the management of Arne Slot, remains at the top of the 20-team league table.

Defending champions Manchester City staged a comeback to defeat Fulham 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium on the same day. Fulham took the lead in the 26th minute with a goal from Andreas Pereira, but City equalized in the 32nd minute through midfielder Mateo Kovacic. Kovacic then scored again in the 47th minute, putting City ahead. Winger Jeremy Doku added a third goal in the 82nd minute to extend their lead. Although Rodrigo Muniz scored Fulham’s second goal in the 88th minute, they were unable to equalize, and City held on for the win, collecting all three points.

At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal faced a challenge from Southampton, who took an early lead with a goal from Cameron Archer in the 55th minute. However, Arsenal responded quickly, with striker Kai Havertz leveling the match just three minutes later. Gabriel Martinelli scored in the 68th minute, and Bukayo Saka added a third goal in the 88th minute, sealing a 3-1 victory for Arsenal in front of their home fans.
