Sports Minister Kataaha Stands by National Team in World Cup Qualifier Disappointment

Last evening, Janet K. Museveni, the Minister of Sports, joined thousands of football fans to show support for the Uganda Cranes in their match against Algeria in the World Cup qualifiers.

The outcome of the match may not have been as desired, but there remains optimism in gathering essential points in upcoming matches to secure a place in the tournament.




Minister Museveni extended gratitude to the thousands of fans who attended the match to cheer on the team, as well as those who supported from a distance. Acknowledging the significance of the “12th man” in football, she emphasized the importance of maintaining spirit and resilience for the national teams.




Despite the setback, Minister Museveni asserted that Uganda Cranes is still in contention for advancement in the tournament, expressing confidence in their ability to persevere and succeed. She encouraged continued support and belief in the team’s potential.
