FUFA Eastern Region Chairman Meets District Referees Ahead of March Tournament

The Chairman of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) for the Eastern Region, John Odong, visited Katakwi on March 18, 2025, where he met with district referees in preparation for an upcoming tournament organized by Hon. Peter Ogwang.

The tournament is set to kick off on March 22nd, with Katakwi Sub-County facing Katakwi Town Council. Organized by Hon. Peter Ogwang, the Minister of State for Education and Sports and Ngariam County legislator, the tournament will feature seven sub-counties from Ngariam County.




The winning sub-county will receive UGX 15 million, the second-place sub-county will receive UGX 10 million, and the third-place sub-county will receive UGX 5 million. The remaining four sub-counties will each receive UGX 1 million.




Odong praised Hon. Ogwang for organizing the tournament, calling it the most organized and reputable in the Teso sub-region.




He urged the referees to uphold the highest standards of ethics during the tournament, and the referees, excited about the upcoming event, pledged to demonstrate professionalism and integrity while officiating the games.
