Czech President Petr Pavel arrived in Kyiv on March 21 for scheduled meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, according to Czech media outlet Hrad.
Pavel’s visit comes after his trip to Moldova, and he is now in the Ukrainian capital to discuss further cooperation and support.
On March 20, Pavel visited Odesa, where he met with Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Restoration and Regional Development, Oleksiy Kuleba, as well as regional authorities from Odesa and representatives from the cities of Mykolaiv and Kherson.
The focus of the discussions in Odesa centered on continued support for southern Ukraine.
“Czechia has provided assistance in the form of combat vehicles, drones, bulletproof vests, mobile jamming devices, and medical equipment such as ventilators and hospital beds,” journalists noted in their reports.
Earlier reports indicated that Pavel was in Odesa during a massive Russian drone attack on the city, highlighting the ongoing security challenges faced by Ukraine.
