A growing number of destroyed Russian military vehicles are now visible along roads in Russia’s Kursk region following successful operations by Ukrainian forces, including elite rangers and special units. Widespread footage shared on social media shows scenes that resemble an outdoor exhibition of burnt-out tanks, armoured vehicles, and civilian transports devastated by Ukrainian artillery and drone strikes.
In one video, a Ukrainian armoured vehicle appears among the wreckage, suggesting a fierce clash occurred in the area. Ukrainian operations in the Kursk region have been ongoing since August of last year, but this latest footage reveals a sharp escalation in intensity and impact.
Despite claims by the Russian regime that Ukrainian troops had been driven out of the region, Kyiv has firmly rejected such statements. Ukrainian officials have instead confirmed that fighting in Kursk has intensified. Sources close to Ukrainian defence say special forces have successfully neutralised senior Russian and Chechen commanders and captured significant enemy equipment, including several T90 tanks.
The Kremlin has remained largely silent about the scale of the losses, while local Russian channels have begun to show the wreckage, possibly to shape the narrative before it spirals further out of control. Analysts believe this rare glimpse into Russian territory damage is evidence that Ukrainian operations are successfully disrupting supply lines and targeting high-value assets deep inside enemy ground.
