A legal expert suggested on Sunday that the U.S. Supreme Court may soon intervene to limit former President Donald Trump’s actions, citing growing concerns over his repeated disregard for constitutional norms.

Norm Eisen, a former special counsel in the White House and special assistant to the president for ethics and government reform, shared his perspective during an appearance on MSNBC.

A long-time critic of Trump, Eisen argued that the Supreme Court has shown increasing unease with the former president’s conduct.

“The Supreme Court is clearly concerned,” Eisen said. “If you look at the trajectory of their decisions, they have repeatedly rejected Trump’s positions on issues like immigration. He said he would be a dictator on day one. The essence of dictatorship is defying the Constitution and the law. So it’s not just about the 14th Amendment — it’s across the board.”

Eisen’s comments come as Trump continues to face a series of legal challenges stemming from his actions during his presidency. According to Eisen, these cases highlight Trump’s ongoing defiance of legal and constitutional standards.

He pointed to a recent legal victory as a sign of a broader judicial pushback. “We were in court with a big coalition on Friday. He’s reorganizing the entire federal government unconstitutionally, and the federal court agreed. We won on Friday. We got a Temporary Restraining Order,” Eisen said.

The case in question involved Trump’s alleged unconstitutional reorganization of federal agencies — a move the court temporarily blocked. Eisen called the ruling a pivotal moment in efforts to hold Trump accountable through legal means.

“Trump is running amok,” Eisen stated. “The Supreme Court is not just a group of robots interpreting the Constitution. They are human beings, political actors. They see this lawless administration for what it is.”

Concluding his analysis, Eisen expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will eventually act to contain Trump’s influence. “That broader context leads me to believe they’re going to confine him,” he said.

As legal proceedings continue, observers are watching closely to see if the Supreme Court will take decisive steps to check Trump’s power — especially as concerns mount over his continued challenges to constitutional governance.
