Pilots of the Reaper UAV battalion in the 23rd Separate Mechanised Brigade have become a formidable force on the front lines. As soon as hostile targets appear, these unmanned aerial specialists launch precise strikes without hesitation. Their methodical approach has seen them destroy enemy positions, armoured vehicles and supply convoys—each strike a response to the suffering inflicted on Ukrainian soil by the Russian dictator’s forces.
Operating high above the battlefield, Reaper pilots use real‑time intelligence to identify enemy concentrations and civilian targets repurposed for military use. Their drones loiter patiently until the moment is right, then unleash guided munitions that minimise collateral damage while maximising impact. Commanders report that morale among ground troops has soared knowing that “harvesters of war” are overhead, ready to mete out punishment to invaders.
Since February 2024, the Reaper battalion has conducted hundreds of sorties, striking everything from entrenched infantry to command posts and logistics hubs. Each mission is logged and analysed for lessons learned, ensuring continuous improvement. The battalion’s success has prompted calls for expanded drone capabilities across other brigades.
