Ukrainian forces have destroyed a Russian tank carrying infantry troops using high-speed first person view drones. The incident took place in the Donetsk region, a key frontline in the ongoing conflict with Russian forces.
Video footage captured by the Ukrainian “WormBusters” unit of the 414th Strike UAV Brigade shows the Russian tank attempting to advance towards Ukrainian defensive positions. Mounted on top of the tank were at least four Russian soldiers, who appeared helpless as the vehicle came under drone attack.
Despite the tank firing on Ukrainian positions, it was unable to avoid the incoming drones. The high manoeuvrability of the drones allowed them to strike precisely. One drone flies directly towards the tank, closing in on the soldiers riding atop it. Moments later, another drone crashes onto the side of the tank, causing further damage to both the vehicle and the troops.
Following the strikes, the Russian forces were forced to seek cover by hiding their damaged tank in a small wooded area before retreating on foot. Additional drone attacks soon destroyed the tank completely.
