Ukrainian forces have successfully destroyed one of Russia’s heavy flamethrower systems known as the “Solntsepyok” using an FPV (First Person View) drone in the Vovchansk direction. The strike was carried out by the Ukrainian unit “Forpost”, part of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. This marks a significant tactical success for Ukrainian defenders as the Solntsepyok system is one of the Russian dictator’s most feared weapons in ground operations.
The Solntsepyok, officially known as TOS-1A, is a heavy multiple rocket launcher system capable of firing thermobaric warheads. These warheads cause devastating damage over a wide area and are particularly dangerous in urban or fortified environments. It is a weapon often used by Kremlin forces to target both military positions and civilian infrastructure.
