The US and Ukrainian delegations are scheduled to hold another round of discussions on March 24, following the completion of the US-Russia meeting in Saudi Arabia.
According to European Pravda, citing Suspilne, a Ukrainian public broadcaster, the meeting will occur after the US and Russian delegations conclude their talks. Sources familiar with the discussions have confirmed the details.
The upcoming US-Ukrainian talks will occur shortly after the Russian and US delegations finish their meeting, which is expected to focus on reviewing ceasefire measures agreed upon with Ukraine the previous day.
These measures include halting attacks on energy infrastructure, civilian facilities, and in the Black Sea.
The Ukrainian delegation is hopeful that the talks with the US will result in constructive intermediate agreements with Russia, though expectations from Russia are reportedly more cautious.
Background: Negotiations between the US and Russian delegations began on March 24 in Saudi Arabia. The Kremlin stated that the focus of the discussions would be on resuming the Black Sea Grain Initiative, from which Russia withdrew in 2023.
On March 23, the US and Ukrainian delegations held talks in Riyadh. Following these discussions, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umierov described the meeting as “productive and focused,” although he did not provide further details on the discussions.
