Operators from the Phoenix UAV unit have successfully destroyed two Russian 2S5 Giatsint-S self-propelled artillery systems in the Kharkiv Region.
This operation, carried out by drone operators from the 3rd Border Detachment, demonstrated exceptional precision and effectiveness against enemy targets.
According to a report released by the State Border Guard Service on April 3, the destruction of these artillery systems represents a significant tactical victory. Each system was valued at approximately $4 million, highlighting the substantial material loss inflicted on Russian forces.
Beyond eliminating the high-value artillery units, Ukrainian forces also neutralized enemy positions and eliminated around a dozen Russian combatants.
Supported by compelling drone footage, this operation underscores Ukraine’s ongoing commitment to securing strategic positions and weakening enemy capabilities along the frontline.
As previously reported by Defense Express, Phoenix drone operators also played a key role in repelling a Russian assault in Donetsk, where they destroyed enemy tanks and armored vehicles.
Additionally, they successfully disrupted Russian supply lines in Kupiansk with precision strikes on dozens of transport trucks.
