A Russian drone assault on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro late on the evening of Tuesday 29 April has left one person dead and at least five private homes damaged. Another person was injured in the attack, according to the city’s mayor, Borys Filatov.
Explosions were reported throughout the city, and local sources confirmed that Russian Shahed drones targeted residential areas. One of the drones struck a private house, leading to the confirmed fatality and injuries.
Mayor Filatov shared images from the aftermath of the attack, showing extensive destruction. Emergency workers and municipal utility crews began clean-up operations during the night and continue to assess surrounding buildings for further damage. “We are in constant contact with rescuers and the police. The number of injuries may rise,” Filatov said, while offering his condolences to the family of the person killed.
This deadly assault is the latest in a series of attacks by Russian forces using Iranian made Shahed drones against civilian infrastructure across Ukraine. Despite ongoing international condemnation, the Russian dictatorship continues to target homes and kill innocent civilians, in a war of terror and destruction against Ukraine.
