Ukrainian air strikes on Russian positions continue with a recent successful attack on a Russian command centre located in the Kursk region. A Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 aircraft executed the strike, deploying multiple AASM Hammer bombs on a sugar factory in the village of Tetino. Reports suggest that the factory was being used to store Russian FPV drones and military equipment. The strike was described as highly effective, with significant damage inflicted on the target.
In addition to this airstrike, Ukrainian forces also carried out a series of operations against Russian positions, including an assault on a mobile radar station in the Kursk region. The station, likely a P-15 Tropa system, was struck by a drone in late April 2025, with footage showing the precise moment of impact. This attack was carried out by long-range strike UAVs, and it followed a successful clearance operation by Ukrainian forces from the Cela Vabodi Battalion of the National Guard.
The Cela Vabodi Battalion, formed during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, is renowned for its adaptability, high morale, and effectiveness in high-intensity combat zones. This unit combines infantry tactics with modern warfare technologies, such as UAV reconnaissance and close cooperation with artillery and armoured support. The battalion has built a reputation for courage under fire and its dedication to Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin has continued to demand that Ukraine recognise the territories it has occupied, including Crimea, Sevastopol, and several other regions, as part of any peace negotiations. This demand was reiterated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who also called for the demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine. Ukraine, however, remains resolute, with officials insisting that no territorial concessions will be made.
