Ukrainian drone operators from the First Tank Brigade successfully freed three Ukrainian soldiers held in captivity by Russian forces. The operation took place in Crimea, specifically in the Choramorski district, which is under Russian occupation.
Using highly advanced drone technology, the Ukrainian operators managed to separate the prisoners from their Russian captors by deploying air-dropped devices to create chaos and distraction. This allowed the soldiers to be moved to a safe location, all while Russian forces were neutralized by strategically launched drone strikes.
The precision of the operation was remarkable. High-resolution aerial drones surveyed the area for hours, building a complete picture of enemy positions. This allowed Ukrainian forces to identify the bound but alive captives and begin the extraction mission. Using small, silent drones, smoke charges and decoys were deployed to sow confusion among the Russian forces. At the same time, the captives were guided to safety using hand signals and laser pointers visible only through thermal optics.
Once the captives were in position, FPV kamikaze drones were used to destroy Russian vehicles and positions. These drones, modified for speed and explosive payloads, were operated manually by highly skilled pilots who could target enemy soldiers with pinpoint accuracy. The operation was a success, and not a single Ukrainian life was lost during the extraction.
The First Tank Brigade’s drone detachment has become renowned for its ability to integrate drones into warfare, evolving beyond its traditional role in armored combat. These operators are not just drone pilots but also experts in reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and combat infantry.
