A Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet has successfully destroyed a Russian military command post in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region. The strike targeted a facility where Russian assault units had gathered, and where ammunition was being stockpiled. According to Ukrainian military sources and Telegram channels, the strike was carried out using US-supplied GBU-62 precision-guided munitions.
Video footage posted on Telegram shows the moment of the impact and the destruction that followed. The Russian troops had been seen moving equipment and boxes into the site before the building was hit. The post served as a command and logistics point for Russian assault units operating in the area.
This precise aerial attack comes amid increased Ukrainian military activity against Russian military infrastructure, both within occupied Ukrainian territories and across the Russian border. Ukraine has recently intensified the use of advanced Western-made weaponry, including bombs and missiles, in its efforts to disrupt Russian logistics, command structures, and ammunition depots.
Earlier this month, Ukrainian Defence Forces targeted the Kacha airbase in occupied Crimea, which houses aircraft of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The Crimean Peninsula was illegally annexed by Russia in 2014 and has since become a key strategic location for the Russian military. The strike on Kacha was one in a series of coordinated efforts by Ukraine to weaken Russia’s hold on occupied regions.
