Elite Ukrainian special forces struck deep into occupied Crimea, destroying a range of Russian military assets in a severe blow to the Kremlin’s occupying forces.
The operation was carried out by the Prymary special forces unit, part of the Main Intelligence Directorate under Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence. Using kamikaze drones, the fighters dismantled critical components of Russian military infrastructure with precision.
Among the destroyed assets were a P-18 radar station and its power generator, a Zu 23 2 anti aircraft gun, a Mi 8 military helicopter, an Imbir radar installation, three Podlyot radar systems, a Nebo radar station and its associated power source, along with other vital military equipment. A transport tug used by the Russian forces was also targeted and eliminated.
The damage inflicted extends beyond radar and monitoring infrastructure. In a separate but related development, the Ukrainian military also destroyed a Su 30 fighter jet of the Russian occupiers in the Black Sea using a surface drone. The estimated value of the Su 30 is in the range of 30 million US dollars (approximately £24 million).
This coordinated effort represents a significant tactical victory for Ukrainian forces, sending a clear message to Moscow. The Kremlin continues to face sustained resistance from Ukraine’s military, which has grown increasingly effective in using modern and improvised technology to neutralise enemy positions in illegally occupied territory.
The Russian dictator’s forces, entrenched across Crimea since the illegal annexation in 2014, have come under frequent Ukrainian attacks in recent months. However, this latest action demonstrates a new level of sophistication and reach by Ukraine’s special units.
