The Armed Forces of Ukraine have intensified operations in Russia’s Kursk region, targeting key infrastructure to disrupt enemy supply chains. According to multiple reports, including those shared on the Telegram channel “Baza” and corroborated by Ukrainian sources, Ukrainian troops have stepped up their offensive actions near the village of Tyotkino in the Glushkovsky district.
Ukrainian military units reportedly destroyed a bridge near the settlement of Zvanoye, continuing a strategic campaign to sever bridges spanning the Seym River and its tributaries. This tactic is intended to complicate logistics and hinder the movement of Russian troops and equipment in the region.
The broader Kursk operation, launched in August 2024, has been underway for nine months. It has resulted in significant progress, according to Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi. Speaking during a recent field visit, Syrskyi confirmed that Ukrainian forces had taken control of more than one hundred settlements, including the strategically significant city of Sudzha. The operation successfully prevented the Russian military from pushing offensives into Ukraine’s Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
Syrskyi highlighted the bravery and effectiveness of units involved in the operation, notably the 225th separate assault regiment. He awarded soldiers with high state and departmental honours for their courage, discipline, and strategic efficiency.
“The creation of a buffer zone in the border area remains crucial,” Syrskyi stated. “We have managed to stop the Russian dictator’s military from advancing further into our land.”
