In Istanbul’s historic Dolmabahce Palace, a high level meeting has begun between Ukraine, the United States and Turkey. The trilateral talks, seen as a key diplomatic step amid growing regional tensions, bring together some of the top officials from all three nations.
Representing Ukraine is Andriy Sybiha, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, joined by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and later Defence Minister Rustem Umerov. The United States is represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Joe Biden’s special envoy Keith Kellogg. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is attending on behalf of Ankara.
According to journalists on the ground, including Ukrinform’s correspondent in Turkey, Olga Budnyk, the discussions are focused on strengthening strategic cooperation, enhancing Ukraine’s defence capabilities, and preparing a coordinated stance for possible future negotiations with Russia.
