Tragedy struck as gunfire erupted at a Waffle House in Indianapolis in the early hours of February 19, 2024, leaving one person dead and five others injured, one critically, according to authorities.
Police responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 12:40 a.m. local time, discovering five apparent gunshot victims upon arrival. All victims were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Tragically, despite medical efforts, a woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The remaining victims, three men and a woman, were reported to be in stable condition, while another man arrived at a hospital separately and was listed in critical condition.
Preliminary investigations by law enforcement suggest that a confrontation between two groups at the Waffle House escalated into gunfire. While multiple individuals at the scene are cooperating with authorities, it remains unclear if any of the victims were also involved in firing shots.
