Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has finalized his divorce from wife, Cristina Serra this week, with reports indicating that he has lost nearly all his assets to her.

Sources claim that Serra chose to end their ten-year marriage following Guardiola’s contract renewal with Manchester City.

While this separation has not garnered much media attention, it is said to have left Guardiola heartbroken. Serra has severally accused her now former husband of being overly focused on his professional life.

It’s important to mention that the couple spent the previous Christmas holiday together, but things had began to decline after Pep signed a contract extension with Manchester City until 2027.

This recent contract renewal is believed to have been the tipping point for Serra, a businesswoman. Guardiola and his wife were together for approximately 30 years, although they only legally married a decade ago. Some reports suggest that Pep does not intend to return to Catalonia when his contract with the Citizens concludes; instead, he aims to advance his managerial career in the United Arab Emirates, a prospect that displeased his ex-wife.

Moreover, it is reported that this separation is a “friendly breakup without drama or fights,” and both parties have “left the possibility for reconciliation open.”

A Spanish newspaper, El Periodico, noted that Pep and his wife had been in a LAT (Living Apart Together) relationship, with Serra residing in Barcelona and the 53-year-old living in Manchester.

Reports suggest that the well-known manager lost his largest mansion in Manchester and half his wealth to his wife and children.

One reason Serra cited for the divorce is that Pep is so dedicated to football that he has less time for family.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach reportedly left the court in tears and feeling devastated.

This news comes at a challenging time for Guardiola, as he faces one of the toughest periods in his managerial career.

His City squad has been performing poorly this season, and the struggles seem far from over. Additionally, the Premier League champions are facing legal issues, with the FA expected to announce a verdict regarding the club’s 115 charges soon.
