This afternoon, a tragic accident involving a Subaru Forester (UBN 375Q) and a Toyota Hiace drone (UBP 314A) claimed the lives of three individuals along the Ntungamo-Mbarara road.
The occupants of the Subaru, unfortunately, succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred at Kahunga when the Toyota Hiace, which was traveling from Mbarara to Rukungiri, collided with the Subaru Forester, which was heading in the opposite direction.
The two occupants of the Subaru Forester died at the scene. The taxi driver, Mujurizi Herbert, who had initially survived with injuries, died later while being transported to Itojo hospital for medical attention.
Numerous passengers sustained serious injuries and were also rushed to Itojo hospital for medical attention.
The wreckages of both vehicles were towed to Ntungamo Central Police station.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
