Ugandan High Commission Hosts She Cranes for Vitality Netball Nations Cup Send-off Luncheon

The Ugandan High Commission in London extended a warm welcome to the She Cranes, treating them to a delightful luncheon on Wednesday. Counsellor Miriam Otengo, representing the Ugandan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, orchestrated the event, acknowledging the team’s accomplishments ahead of the Vitality Netball Nations Cup set to unfold over two weekends in London and Leeds.

In an evening filled with celebration, the players enjoyed a sumptuous meal, offering them a taste of home within the commission’s premises. The Ugandan community, present in significant numbers, recognized and commended the team for their achievements, fostering a sense of unity and pride.




Counsellor Miriam Otengo expressed gratitude to the She Cranes, highlighting their role as remarkable ambassadors for Uganda. She praised their energy, emphasizing how they illuminate the flag of Uganda wherever they go. Otengo conveyed the sentiment that when people talk about the Cranes, they are inherently speaking about Uganda.




While organized at the High Commission, the event witnessed a notable turnout of diaspora Ugandans, eager to support and encourage the team, contributing to the warmth and camaraderie of the occasion.
