Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) has called upon members of the Biden administration to “explore” the possibility of removing President Biden under the 25th Amendment following a special counsel’s report that cleared him of any wrongdoing but highlighted concerns about his age and memory.
In a letter obtained by Fox News Digital, Tenney expressed her “grave concerns” to Attorney General Merrick Garland, citing the findings of Special Counsel Robert Hur, who investigated Biden’s handling of classified materials. Although Hur concluded that Biden had “willfully” retained classified documents, he did not recommend charges, describing Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory.”
Tenney argued that it would be unethical for the Department of Justice to pursue charges against former President Trump while declining to do so against Biden. She contended that Biden’s age, 81, and alleged cognitive decline impede his ability to fulfill his duties as president.
Citing the 25th Amendment, which provides a mechanism for replacing the president in cases of incapacitation, Tenney urged Garland to consider initiating proceedings for Biden’s removal.
Biden responded defiantly to the special counsel’s report, asserting during a press conference that he has “put this country back on its feet.”
