An initiative by Senior Presidential Advisor Hon. Sam Engola camped at Kole-Bala Catholic Mission on Wednesday for an event aimed at promoting quality education. They were invited by sector friends of the Kole South Education Association (KOSEDA).
Since 2016, KOSEDA has been at the forefront of improving the education system and academic excellence in Kole District. “The performance of our government-aided schools has been very poor compared to other districts, and this is why we want to learn from their success,” says Mr. Ogwal David, who is the Chairperson of the Erute South Education Committee and also the Headteacher of Olilo PS in Etek Subcounty.
The brain and support behind ESEC is Hon. Sam Engola, who last term provided sets of assessment exams to all the primary schools in the Erute South Constituency. In a bid to improve pupils’ performance in this year’s PLE, 54 schools in the constituency are today taking the first set of assessment exams. Before Term II of 2024 ends, we expect three or four sets to have been completed in the above schools, which include both private and government-aided institutions.
According to the Coordinator of ESEC, Achai Ferdinand, such executive visits and capacity exchanges with KOSEDA will enable them to plan for a Teachers’ Conference in 2025 for all the teachers in Erute South.
