Yoweri K. Museveni, President of Uganda, took to social media to extend birthday wishes to his wife, Janet Kainembabazi Kataaha Museveni, who has reached the age of 76. In his heartfelt message, President Museveni affectionately referred to her as the Managing Director of “the Museveni Incorporated,” highlighting her pivotal role within their family and their shared journey of nearly 51 years as comrades-in-arms.

President Museveni expressed gratitude to the Lord for guiding them through numerous challenges and bestowing countless blessings upon their lives. He emphasized Janet’s unique position within their family dynamics, particularly recalling the period from 1981 to 1986. During those years, amidst political turmoil, Janet was tasked with caring for their young children—Muhoozi, Natasha, Patience, and Diana—when circumstances necessitated her relocation to Kenya and later Sweden.

Reflecting on their previous experiences in exile from 1971 to 1979, President Museveni underscored the distinct challenges faced during the 1980s. He noted the complexities of managing familial responsibilities while navigating political upheavals, where Janet played a central role in providing stability and care for their children during their time abroad.

Acknowledging the support received from the Swedish government during their stay from 1983 to 1986, President Museveni expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to his family. He specifically mentioned Ambassador Mirjam Blaak for her instrumental role in facilitating arrangements that ensured their well-being and security during their residence in Sweden.

President Museveni concluded his message with a deep sense of appreciation for Janet, attributing to her the profound gift of family amidst his commitment as a freedom fighter. He highlighted her enduring strength and dedication, which have been essential pillars throughout their shared journey of personal and political challenges.
