Equity Bank Uganda continues its expansion efforts with the relaunch of two branches today, following the recent reopening of its Paidha branch earlier in the day. Now, the financial institution is focusing on the relaunch of another branch in Ishaka, Western Uganda, marking a busy day for the company.
The event at Peak Hotel in Ishaka brings together key stakeholders and community leaders to celebrate the renewed presence of Equity Bank in the region. The relaunch initiatives underscore Equity Bank’s commitment to enhancing its service delivery and community engagement across Uganda.
Earlier in the day, Equity Bank held a successful relaunch event at Daudi Courts Hotel in Paidha District, attracting a diverse audience including SME customers, local government officials, and community leaders from the Alur community. The event was graced by notable figures such as former Archbishop Dr. Henry Luke Orombi, who highlighted the bank’s role in fostering economic growth and development in the region.
Peter Ssemakalu, Regional Manager for Greater North at Equity Bank Uganda, addressed attendees, emphasizing the bank’s collaborative efforts with local communities to improve livelihoods and support entrepreneurial aspirations. He highlighted the strategic importance of the Paidha branch in serving not only Paidha but also neighboring areas such as Zombo.
Elizabeth K. Mwerinde, Executive Director of Equity Bank Uganda, acknowledged the contributions of outstanding members of the business community with awards of appreciation during the event. She reiterated Equity Bank’s commitment to transforming lives through social impact investments, strategic partnerships, and sustainable community empowerment initiatives.
During the recently concluded Uganda Martyrs 2024 commemoration, Equity Bank Uganda demonstrated its strong commitment to supporting the Church of Uganda. The financial institution announced that it would cover 70% of the outstanding $17 million loan for the construction of the Janani Luwum Church House.
The Janani Luwum Church House, a significant project for the Church of Uganda, has been a focal point of fundraising efforts. Equity Bank Uganda’s substantial contribution at this commemorative event marks a significant milestone in the project’s financial progress.
The announcement was made amidst the solemnity and reverence of the Uganda Martyrs 2024 commemoration.
