Today, July 5, 2024, many people from across the country have gathered at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Mzee Museveni. He has been in power since 1986, following the NRA bush war, and is praised for his steadfast leadership, which has maintained peace in Uganda for 38 years. His governance has emphasized patriotism, pan-Africanism, democracy, and socioeconomic transformation.
Mbarara City residents have enthusiastically joined this national celebration, traveling to Kampala to honor Mzee Museveni. They commend him for bringing democracy, enabling Ugandans to elect leaders like Hon. Rita Atukwasa as their Woman Member of Parliament.
Hon. Rita Atukwasa is recognized for her dignified service to Mbarara City, upholding NRM revolutionary principles, particularly socioeconomic transformation. She has spearheaded numerous initiatives, including establishing women’s savings groups in every village, supporting hospitals with beds, organizing seminars on reproductive health and child protection, and advocating for infrastructure and healthcare improvements.
The city pledges its support for Hon. Rita Atukwasa, endorsing her for another term in 2026. Residents aim to continue advancing development in health, education, transportation, electricity, and women’s empowerment under her leadership. She is also commended for promoting peace and reconciliation among the city’s residents.
As celebrations continue at Kololo, Mbarara City reaffirms its commitment to Hon. Rita Bwahika, ensuring her continued service until 2031.
