The leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Bobi Wine, announced on social media that the police have once again blocked their planned activities. Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi, expressed frustration over the continuous interference with NUP’s events.

He stated that the police, under the direction of Frank Mwesigwa, have prevented their mobilization activities in Bugweri, Pallisa, and Soroti scheduled for the upcoming weekend. Bobi Wine pointed out that other political parties and actors continue to conduct their activities, including processions and rallies, without such restrictions. He accused the regime of looking for any excuse to block NUP’s activities.

Bobi Wine emphasized that NUP has made every effort to remain civil and non-violent in their political engagements. However, he warned that the ongoing obstruction by the authorities is pushing them to a point where they might have to resist.
