Hon. Ahabwe Seith Muyambi, a member of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) known for his strong support for PLU activities and Gen. MK, aimed to promote Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as Uganda’s 10th president and consolidate President Museveni’s achievements.

Over the past three years, Hon. Seith developed an interest in representing Kabura County, Lyantonde District, in the 12th Parliament. His ambition was well-supported by Kabura’s youth and stakeholders.

To effectively represent Kabura County and address leadership gaps, Hon. Seith promoted sports, supported churches, empowered women and youth groups, and backed the Kabura County team in the Masaza Cup.

His arrival was seen as a positive force. He organized a tournament in Kabura, awarding prizes like cows, sports equipment, and cash to motivate talented young players in Lyantonde District.

Furthermore, Hon. Seith donated 100 million shillings for church construction in Kabura, exciting many who believed Kabura had found a savior.

These actions reportedly threatened the incumbent MP. Sources revealed the incumbent considered approaching Seith, but the youth’s strong support for Seith in 2026 caused hesitation.

As a loyal party cadre prioritizing Kabura and Lyantonde’s well-being, Hon. Seith bowed to requests from the incumbent and stakeholders, agreeing to step aside for the incumbent’s re-election.

“I have withdrawn from the race for the sake of my party, the NRM, my civic organization, the PLU, and for the good of our people in Kabura,” Hon. Seith noted.

The efforts to maintain NRM and PLU unity in Kabura are attributed to National Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda, Chairman Nuwagira Michael Kaguta, also known as Toyota.

Chairman Toyota mediated, leading the two cadres to an agreement. Hon. Seith would allow the incumbent another term, with Seith contesting in 2031.

It’s important to note that Seith’s withdrawal doesn’t prevent other contenders from challenging the incumbent.
