Hon Emma Mutanje, Hon Dr Mwambu and other Bamasaba Contribute Towards Buying a Radio Station and Television for Inzuya Masaaba

Our Reporter, Mbale City – The Bamasaba cultural institution, on its first coronation anniversary held on August 1, 2024, at Mt Elgon Hotel in Mbale City, made contributions towards the establishment of a radio station for the cultural institution. The coronation dinner took place at Mt Elgon Hotel and attracted over 500 Bamasaba from all walks of life.

Contributions came from those present, including:




  • Brigadier Oluka, Director-General of the Internal Security Organization, who paid 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings through his deputy, Colonel Katabazi.
  • His Majesty Fiti V, Chairman of the All African Kings Council of Africa and King of the Volta people of Ghana, contributed 1000 United States dollars, approximately equivalent to 4 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Colonel Katabazi, Deputy Director ISO, paid 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • Hon Balaam Barugahare paid 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings in cash.
  • Hon Nambozo Florence, State Minister of Karamoja, paid 2 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Dr Paul Mwambu, a minister in Inzuya Masaaba and Commissioner in the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, pledged 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • Hon Mutanje, a minister in Inzuya Masaaba, former political assistant to the Speaker of the Uganda Parliament James Wapakhabulo, and Kampala-based business magnet, paid 5 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Hon Dr Wambaka Kosea, a minister in Inzuya Masaaba and consultant for Government projects, pledged 10,000,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • The management of the Chinese industrial park in Mbale paid 1 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Hon Werikhe, Member of Parliament for Bubulo County West and also a minister in Inzuya Masaaba, pledged 1 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Hajji Suleiman Lumolo, a businessman, long-time NRM funder, and Chairman of the NRM Sironko District, paid 1 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Manafwa District Local Government, through their finance secretary Hon Willy Wandeka, pledged 1 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Hon Vincent Woboya, former Member of Parliament and Inzuya Masaaba Minister for Disaster, pledged 1 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Mr Wamulugwa John of Generous Trading Stores pledged 500,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • Mr Mudebo of cryptocurrency pledged 200,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • Mr Dickson of Capital Trading Company pledged 1 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Mr Emmanuel Situma, Bungoma County Speaker, pledged 100,000 Kenyan Shillings.
  • Hon Meru Patrick pledged 100,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • Mr Wojega and family contributed and pledged 1 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Counsel Shibale Richard pledged 100,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • Mr Kamoti Wasungui, LCV Chairman Bududa, contributed 100,000 Ugandan Shillings towards the establishment of the Bamasaba radio station.
  • Ibanda University representative contributed 2 million Ugandan Shillings.
  • Mr Balayo of Sironko Town Council contributed 200,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • Hon Khalayi Lydia, aspiring woman MP for Namisindwa District, pledged 500,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • Inspector of motor cars at Katonga Police Division contributed 200,000 Ugandan Shillings.
  • Other contributions came from the Kenyan Bamasaba, approximately over 2 million Kenyan Shillings, as per the Kenyan style of collections which is usually done in groups and paid on spot. Contributions from Kenya came from Phillip Wanyonyi, Agnes Wache, Dr Bifwoli, Metrine, Bungoma County Speaker, among others.

The mini-fundraising raised over 50,000,000 Ugandan Shillings, and the radio station is calculated to cost over 500,000,000 Ugandan Shillings, which creates room for further contributions. We therefore encourage Bamasaba to consider this as a serious cause and contribute even electronically, Umukuka Jude Mike Mudoma stated.




Very soon we shall share the right details on how to contribute electronically from Bamasaba people in Uganda and beyond to ensure that we have both a television and radio station for the Bamasaba people.
