KAMPALA – The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has issued a final reminder to schools that today, Friday, July 31, 2026, is the last day for the late registration of candidates for this year’s Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.
In a press statement released on Friday, UNEB urged all school heads and directors to ensure that every eligible learner in candidate classes is registered before the midnight deadline, warning that no further registration will be accepted after today.
The examinations body emphasized that no learner should be left behind, calling on schools to complete the registration process and ensure that all registration fees have been fully paid before candidates can be officially registered.
UNEB noted that late registration attracts a surcharge of 100 percent on the normal registration fees. This means PLE candidates pay Shs68,000, while UCE and UACE candidates pay Shs246,000 and Shs279,000, respectively.
The Board also reminded Heads of Examination Centres and Inspectors of Schools that Friday is the final day for submitting candidates’ registration files to UNEB.
Following the close of registration, UNEB said it will carry out quality assurance procedures before announcing dates for the display of candidates’ registers at schools. During this exercise, parents and candidates will be required to verify their registration status and confirm that their biodata has been captured correctly.
UNEB encouraged schools and parents with inquiries to contact the Board through its official communication channels before the registration window closes.
