Following the recent reshuffle, former Resident District Commissioner for Amuria, Lillian Eyal, handed over office yesterday to the newly appointed RDC as she prepares to take on a new role in Lira.

During her farewell speech, Eyal thanked the people of Amuria for their cooperation, which contributed to stable and corruption-free leadership. She advised her successor to work diligently in supporting government programs and to act as an ambassador for socio-economic transformation, a key pillar of the NRM government.

The new RDC, Hajji Imran, expressed his readiness to work cooperatively with his technical staff to ensure that residents receive necessary services.

Angella Akurut, the Amuria District Chief Administrative Officer, welcomed Hajji Imran and told Joshua Radio that working with Eyal had been a pleasure and that her service will be missed.

The handover ceremony was also attended by Ann Grace Ajore Opolot, an aspirant for the Amuria District Woman Member of Parliament. She praised the new RDC’s speech and expressed hope that collaboration would lead to significant transformation in the district.
