Steven Ariong, Moroto – The District leaders in Moroto, Karamoja region, have committed to upholding integrity while conducting government business on behalf of the community.
The pledge was made during a one-day training session on integrity for district civil servants, organized by the Karamoja Anti-Corruption Coalition with funding from GIZ and the Danish Embassy. The training took place at Rapona Hotel in Moroto Municipality.
Moroto is the fourth district in Karamoja to undergo this integrity training, following Nakapiripirit, Nabilatuk, and Napak.
Dr. Mukisa Ayub, the Executive Director of the Karamoja Anti-Corruption Coalition, emphasized that promoting integrity among civil servants is crucial to eradicating corruption in local government.
“I thank you for your pledge to promote integrity. Now, let’s put our words into action,” he urged the participants.
Mr. Mark AOL Musoka, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner for Moroto, challenged the officials to walk the talk, stating that civil servants who uphold integrity often receive unexpected rewards from God.
