Soroti, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived at the remarkable Ateker Reunion Festival at Soroti Sports Ground, Soroti City. His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Museveni, is at the Ateker Reunion Festival for the official opening/launch of the event, accompanied by First Lady Janet Kataa Museveni.
The event will run from November 27–29, 2024, in Soroti City, featuring several performances. Delegations from Ethiopia, South Sudan, Turkey, South Africa, Kenya, and other countries are now ready to hear from His Excellency the President.
Several dignitaries, including Cabinet ministers, ambassadors, and Members of Parliament such as Olobo James Dubai, Elalo Lalo of Kaberamaido, and other MPs, are also present and eager to listen to the President.
Heads of statutory bodies, heads of institutions, permanent secretaries, and members of the various Ateker cluster groups from Karamoja, Teso, Jopadhola, Lango sub-regions, and the Kumam people are also in attendance.
Hon. Betty Amongi Akena, the Minister for Gender, Labour, and Social Development, has been commended for the colorful and wonderful setup of the ceremony.
The Paramount Chief of Kerkwaro Acholi, Rwot David Onen Acana II, and Won Nyaci Odur Yosam Ebii of the Lango Chiefdom, among others, are comfortably seated in the tent.
