Soroti, Uganda – Anthony Egunyu, a renowned NRM cadre from Soroti City, has officially announced his intention to run for Chairman of the NRM in Soroti.
Egunyu, a skilled politician and long-serving member of the NRM Party, has been instrumental in uniting the NRM in the Teso Sub-region through his team of city cadres.
His political platform is centered around effectively representing the interests of ordinary people while upholding and defending the NRM party’s values, policies, and objectives.
Egunyu aims to strengthen party membership mobilization at the grassroots level, popularize the NRM manifesto, and support the government’s efforts to reduce poverty, create wealth, and enhance transparency in governance. He also advocates for increased development and improved conditions for Eastern Uganda.
Having registered as a member of the NRM party, Egunyu expressed his readiness to compete for the position, emphasizing that he is the best candidate with a clear vision and manifesto for party members.
He is confident in his calm, non-confrontational approach to politics, which he believes makes him the most qualified candidate for the job.
Egunyu hopes to change how people perceive the NRM, particularly in a region that has been historically hostile towards the party. He also aims to dispel the misconception that the NRM is a party for outcasts or egotistical individuals.
Egunyu has committed to reinforcing and advancing the NRM’s core values, mobilizing the voices of both NRM members and the wider community to create a stronger, more inclusive party.
With internal party elections for senior positions intensifying, the NRM is preparing for elections to select new leaders at all levels, including vice chairs for Northern, Eastern, Central, and Western Uganda.
