After the announcement of the 2024 UCE results, countless candidates now have a clear view of their upcoming academic paths. For those interested in pursuing Advanced Level, A’Level studies, the Ministry of Education and Sports has confirmed the dates for when Senior Five students will return to school for Term One.

As per the MOES, these students are expected to report back on March 3, 2025. The Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni, made this announcement while overseeing the UCE exam results at State House, Nakasero. She also stated that these dates have been set to facilitate a smooth transition for students entering A’Level.

“The Ministry of Education and Sports is dedicated to ensuring that our education system operates efficiently and effectively,” Minister Museveni stated. “We encourage all students, parents, and educators to pay attention to the newly established term dates and to make the necessary preparations.”

Furthermore, Ms. Museveni praised the Uganda National Examinations Board and various stakeholders who have played pivotal roles in implementing the new curriculum in secondary schools. It is important to remember that this year’s results represented the first occasion where candidates under this new educational phase received their results as the old curriculum was fully phased out.

The Minister pointed out the various challenges encountered during the rollout of this curriculum, but thanks to the diligent efforts of many, including parents, students, teachers, and schools, its implementation was ultimately successful.

This new curriculum was created to address the needs of Uganda’s growing population of young people, as there were concerns that the old curriculum had become outdated. The primary objective of this new curriculum is to enhance learners’ academic abilities while integrating them with essential skills aimed at contributing to Uganda’s development.
