In particular, the Pokrovsk area saw the enemy launch 68 assaults, while intense engagements also unfolded in the Lyman and Toretsk regions. The Ukrainian military has continued to hold firm, particularly in the Kursk direction, despite ongoing Russian pressure. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a morning update on April 27, 2025.

The enemy forces, in an effort to break Ukrainian lines, launched one missile strike, involving three missiles and 114 air strikes, dropping a total of 202 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, Russian forces conducted almost 5,000 artillery shellings, including 124 from multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 2,494 kamikaze drones. The General Staff highlighted attacks on various Ukrainian settlements, including Novodmytrivka, Mykhailivka, and Prokhody in the Sumy region, as well as Pokrovsk and other towns in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia.

Despite these repeated assaults, Ukrainian aviation, missile troops, and artillery struck back, targeting four areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, as well as a UAV control point and two artillery pieces.

The fighting continued on multiple fronts. In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled four Russian attacks near Nova Kruglyakivka and Zahryzove. The enemy also launched 22 attacks in the Lyman area and was stopped in its tracks near the settlements of Nadiya, Hrekivka, and Novomykhailivka. In the Pokrovsk area, 68 Russian assault attempts were thwarted near settlements such as Sukha Balka, Yelyzavetivka, and Novotoretske.

On the battlefield, Ukrainian forces remained resilient, inflicting significant losses on Russian troops. Over the course of the day, Ukrainian forces eliminated at least 1,030 Russian soldiers and destroyed 8 tanks, 42 artillery systems, and one multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).
