Amolatar, Uganda –  Kioga County MP aspirant Felix Adupa Ongwech has taken a significant stride towards representing the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the upcoming elections, officially picking up his nomination forms this past Tuesday. His entry into the race is already generating notable enthusiasm within the party ranks and among the youth, positioning him as a strong contender for the flag bearer position.
Adupa’s campaign centers on a powerful promise: unity. Addressing supporters after collecting the forms, he pledged to bridge divides and foster cohesion among NRM members in Kioga County. “My first mission is to unite our party members,” Adupa declared, outlining a comprehensive strategy for grassroots mobilization extending all the way to the national level.
His vision for the party involves aggressively popularizing the NRM manifesto across the constituency and spearheading mobilization efforts for the party’s President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Demonstrating ambition, Adupa also stated his intent to actively recruit members from other political parties into the NRM fold once entrusted with the party flag for Kioga County.
Moving beyond party politics, Adupa presented a clear development agenda directly addressing the needs of his constituents:
1.  War on Poverty & Youth Empowerment: He vowed to “lead the fight against poverty,” focusing heavily on economic empowerment initiatives and skilling programs specifically targeted at the youth. “Ending joblessness among our young people is paramount,” Adupa stated, recognizing youth unemployment as a critical challenge.
2.  Development Lobbying & Resource Management:Adupa committed to being a vocal advocate for Kioga County in the national arena, actively lobbying for essential development projects. He emphasized the need for “effective resources management” to ensure maximum benefit for the community and prioritized “improved infrastructure” as a cornerstone for progress.
3.  Anti-Corruption Stance:Taking a firm stand, Adupa declared fighting corruption as a key vision for the people of Amolatar District, signalling a commitment to transparency and accountability in resource utilization.
Adupa’s message appears to be resonating strongly within the NRM structures. Reports indicate significant backing from numerous party membersacross Kioga County who see him as a unifying and energetic candidate capable of effectively carrying the NRM banner. “Many of us are ready to choose Adupa. He understands the party, understands the grassroots, and has a clear plan,” commented one senior party official from Namasale sub-county.
Crucially, the youth demographic is rallying strongly behind Adupa. His relatively youthful age is viewed as a breath of fresh air and a symbol of generational change. “He’s one of us. He talks about skilling and jobs, things that matter to us. We believe he can bring the energy needed for real change,” shared a group of young supporters at the nomination event.
Concluding his remarks, Felix Adupa Ongwech made a direct appeal to the people of Kioga County: “I ask for your support, your trust, and your backing in this quest.
