In a significant step toward the 2026 general elections, Sam Engola, the Senior Presidential Advisor for Lango Affairs and an Erute South Member of Parliament (MP) aspirant, has been officially nominated and cleared by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to contest for the Erute South constituency seat.
Engola, a seasoned leader with a strong grassroots following, successfully underwent the NRM electoral commission’s vetting process on Tuesday, solidifying his position as the ruling party’s official candidate.
His clearance has energized supporters who see him as a unifying force for development in the Lango sub-region.
A Pledge for Transformation
Addressing jubilant supporters shortly after his clearance, Engola outlined his vision for Erute South, emphasizing socio-economic transformation, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development as key pillars of his campaign.
“My mission is to ensure that Erute South benefits from tangible development. I will lobby for better roads, improved healthcare, and skilling programs for our youth to combat unemployment,” he declared.
Engola, leveraging his experience as a presidential advisor, pledged to use his influence to attract government projects and partnerships that will uplift livelihoods in the constituency.
Focus on Youth and Development
Recognizing the challenges of unemployment among young people, Engola promised to prioritize vocational training and entrepreneurship programs.
“We must equip our youth with practical skills to enable them to compete in today’s economy. I will work with technical institutes and investors to create opportunities,” he said.
His message resonated with locals, including NRM leaders and youth representatives, who expressed confidence in his ability to deliver.
The NRM’s endorsement of Engola underscores the party’s trust in his leadership. Party officials praised his track record of service and mobilization, describing him as a “reliable mobilizer” for the ruling party in Lango.
As the campaign season heats up, Engola is expected to face competition from other candidates, but his grassroots connection and development-focused agenda position him as a strong contender.
With his nomination secured, Sam Engola now shifts focus to vigorous campaigning, aiming to rally Erute South behind his vision for progress. His pledge to champion socio-economic transformation and youth empowerment sets the stage for a competitive race—one that could redefine development in the constituency.
Supporters and observers alike will be watching closely as Engola takes his agenda to the people.
