Delegates from the Lango sub-region have pledged their full support for Dr. Chris Baryomunsi in his bid for the position of NRM National Vice Chairperson for the Western Region.
Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, who is also the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, was assured of a bloc vote by the NRM party delegates of the Lango sub-region for the upcoming election to the Central Executive Committee (CEC).
While addressing the delegates, Dr. Baryomunsi emphasized the need for an active and vibrant NRM Youth League.
“We must craft messages that attract young people to the party. Some of them wrongly believe that NRM is only for the elderly,” he said.
He noted that the party’s grassroots structures should not remain dormant and called for increased investment in mobilization at all levels of the party.
Dr. Baryomunsi also promised that all NRM district offices across Uganda would be equipped with laptops to enhance efficiency and digital capacity.
Regarding the upcoming delegates’ conference to be held at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala, he assured the delegates of good treatment and full facilitation.
“In Western Uganda, there are eleven candidates contesting for this position. As good delegates from the Lango sub-region, you are encouraged to listen to all of them — but I believe I am the best candidate among them,” he said.
Dr. Baryomunsi made these remarks during a meeting with NRM delegates at Good News Hotel in Lira City on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
