After Nomination, Dr. Opio Acuti Unveils 11 Achievements Worth UGX 15 Billion and Vows to Leave No One Behind in Kole North

Kole District, Uganda — October 23, 2025 — The Kole North Member of Parliament, Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti, has outlined 11 key achievements attained during his four years of service in the 11th Parliament, valued at approximately UGX 15 billion, shortly after being duly nominated to contest for another term.

Dr. Acuti made the remarks on Wednesday, while addressing supporters during stopovers at Greater Aboke, Okwerodot, and Alito Sub-counties, following his nomination by the Kole District Returning Officer, Niwasiima Rhinny, at the Electoral Commission headquarters in Kole District.

He was received to a hero’s welcome, with hundreds of residents joining his convoy and cheering as he waved to supporters in what many described as a “victory mood.”

Niwasiima declared Dr. Acuti duly nominated to contest for the Kole North Parliamentary seat (2026–2031), amid jubilation and excitement from his supporters, who expressed confidence in his re-election.

Speaking to the media shortly after his nomination, Dr. Acuti emphasized his commitment to addressing the real issues affecting young people in Kole North. He highlighted several initiatives, including:

  • Training over 1,000 youth in vocational and technical skills.
  • Supporting more than 40 youth groups with footballs and sports attire.
  • Lobbying for electricity extension across various parts of the constituency.
  • Engaging telecommunication companies to erect network boosters, leading to a now stable mobile network in many areas.

He promised to unveil more practical and inclusive solutions during his manifesto launch scheduled for November 10, 2025, as he prepares to officially begin his campaign.

Hundreds of residents from Okwerodot, Aboke, and Alito Sub-counties were seen dancing and celebrating, describing Dr. Acuti as a “true son of the soil.”

The Kole District NRM Chairperson, Lillian Anyati, praised Dr. Acuti for his discipline and strong mobilization skills, noting that he understands the community’s needs and has provided tangible solutions to challenges in both Kole North and the Lango Sub-region. She also commended all three NRM flag bearers for successfully completing their nominations on October 22, 2025.

One voter, identified only as Opio Alito, told our reporter:

“This marks the beginning of a journey to ensure that every young person in Kole North benefits from the NRM government’s agenda through a leader who is exposed and committed to leaving no one behind.”

In his closing remarks, Dr. Acuti called for unity among the people of Kole North, urging them to work together and support his re-election bid so that “more development can be realized during the 12th Parliament (2026–2031).”
