President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has ordered investigations into alleged mismanagement of Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga funds in Lubaga District, reinforcing his hardline stance against corruption among public officials.

According to reports, Ivan Majambere Kamuntu, the NRM Lubaga District chairperson, is expected to face criminal prosecution over claims that money meant to fight poverty was misused. The funds were part of government programmes designed to support youths and low-income households.

The directive followed complaints raised by youths during President Museveni’s campaign visit to Lubaga South at Kitebi Primary School. Several youths told the President that billions of shillings he had sent for their development were mismanaged and never reached the intended beneficiaries.

In response, President Museveni instructed State House Investigators to immediately take details from the complainants and investigate Majambere and the eleven members of the local PDM leadership committee accused of mishandling the funds.

The President warned that any official found diverting money meant for the poor would face tough consequences, regardless of their political status. He emphasized that programmes such as PDM and Emyooga are critical to lifting Ugandans out of poverty and must be protected from corruption.

Museveni assured residents that the government would act decisively, recover any stolen funds, and ensure accountability, adding that the fight against corruption remains a top priority of his administration.
