Ugandans are well known for insulting whoever expresses interest to occupy any elective position.
At the moment now, Norbert Mao is at the centre of being insulted and, to the surprise, even those who have all along been complaining about how Parliament has been operating, especially in passing unrealistic laws and allocating money to themselves, are also insulting Hon. Norbert Mao. What amuses me is that Norbert Mao just reads and listens to the insults and laughs at them all.
Norbert Mao behaves in a simple manner that a crocodile behaves while in water. A crocodile will never say anything to a fisherman who’s busy insulting it as long as his buttocks are on top of the water.
This is how Hon. Norbert Mao treats those insulting him because he knows that the game is over.
Ugandans should just wait and test the true definition of legislation when Hon. Norbert Mao takes the speakership.
This is a man who knows the pain that farmers go through, and whatever budget he will be approving will address the interests of farmers.
It should be noted that those years back, whenever Parliament session is on, you find Ugandans seriously watching the proceedings in the House, but of late no one even feels the need to know what’s being debated in the House because they have lost interest in whatever is happening in the House.
My prayer is that Uganda’s Parliament now needs someone who can bring back hope for the people to love and trust what is being debated in Parliament.
And if Hon. Mao wins the seat, please dedicate all your time to build up a Parliament that Ugandans will again admire. End.
