LIRA CITY, Uganda – With just six months remaining until the scheduled completion of the Olympic Akii-Bua Stadium, regional police have pledged continued security support after an inspection tour found construction work progressing well.
A team of regional officers led by the North Kyoga Regional Police Commander (RPC) conducted an inspection of the facility on 5th June 2026, touring various sections and receiving updates on the project’s status.
The RPC commended the Project Manager and the entire construction team for what he described as “good work and notable progress.”
The RPC further appreciated the team’s dedication and assured them that police support would remain available whenever required to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
In response, the Project Manager thanked the RPC and his team for the visit, stating that such inspections demonstrate commitment and support. He encouraged the RPC to continue making regular monitoring visits.
The Project Manager also assured the inspection team that construction work is on course for completion by December 2026.
