Its excitement that failed Anita Among to protect her loot

Steven Ariong

I have been reading comments by many Ugandans. Some sympathize with the current situation Anita Among is going through over corruption, while others say there are many officials who have looted much more than what Anita Among allegedly stole, which might be true.

However, much as there are many people who have stolen, they know how to keep it to themselves without coming out openly to fight everyone, like in Anita Among’s case.

Many government officials own multibillion-shilling properties beyond what Among acquired, but they remain humble, making it hard to know what they own. Even their clothes alone are bought from Owino Market.

They don’t fight others through funding political agents, they never jailed opponents, and they never grabbed people’s land.

While those officials maintain a low profile, Anita Among showed extreme extravagance, buying herself clothes from the UK, with one outfit costing the equivalent of the entire financial budget of a sub-county administration.

The only problem with Among is that she got too excited fighting people everywhere and forgot to take time to protect what she had looted.

I would like to thank Muhoozi Kainerugaba for taking a step that no one could believe would bring Anita Among to book. Among had become a small god, whereby everyone wanted to be blessed by her, including pastors, bishops, and priests. That’s why Among couldn’t waste her time allowing these lower religious leaders to put their hands on her head to pray for her, apart from the Pope only.

As long as the badman General Muhoozi Kainerugaba is still alive, by God’s grace, wastage of public resources will be history in Uganda.

Gen. Muhoozi, our repeated request is that Anita Among should first face the law. That’s when Ugandans will appreciate that the rule of law is not being applied selectively.

Long live Yoweri Museveni. Long live General Muhoozi.
