Koree Wins 2023 Ecobank Fintech Challenge in Cameroon

Pan-African banking institution, Ecobank Group, has declared Koree, a fintech company headquartered in Cameroon, as the grand champion of the 2023 Ecobank Fintech Challenge. The official announcement came from a panel of judges during the competition’s final event at the bank’s central facility located at the Pan African Centre in Lomé, Togo.

Koree secured its victory in a tough competition involving seven other fintech companies, each presenting their inventive fintech solutions to a panel of five independent judges. These eight finalists were meticulously chosen from a preliminary pool of over 1,400 fintech companies originating from 64 different countries. This showcases the competition’s remarkable growth in popularity over the six years since its inception, emphasizing the wealth of innovation and creativity, particularly on the African continent.




Koree is set to receive a substantial cash prize of US$50,000 for being the champion, while Wolf Technologies, the first runner-up, will take home US$10,000. Flexpay Technologies, the second runner-up, will be awarded US$5,000.
