Nakuru Teenager Fatally Injured in Argument Over Sugarcane in Kuresoi

In Kuresoi, Nakuru County, a teenage boy lost his life due to an altercation over a piece of sugarcane. The 15-year-old boy was fatally wounded during a fight with a 17-year-old teenager, which resulted in a severe head injury.

According to witnesses, the dispute originated from a disagreement about the ownership of the sugarcane, and it escalated when the 17-year-old used a machete (panga) to harm the younger boy. Following the incident, the injured teenager was immediately taken to the hospital.




Regrettably, he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, as confirmed by the local authorities. In response to this tragic event, the police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.




On Wednesday, a team of detectives visited the scene of the incident and recovered the machete used in the assault. The suspected assailant, the 17-year-old, is currently at large, and the police are actively searching for him. The deceased boy’s body has been transferred to the mortuary pending an autopsy.




In a separate incident in the Mau Summit area of Nakuru County, another dispute led to a man’s death. Police reports indicate that a man lost his life after being struck on the head during an argument related to an injured dog.

Kennedy Too, the victim, passed away after receiving a blow to the head. The altercation occurred when he kicked a dog that was crossing the road, leading to an angry response from the dog’s owner, Wesley Bett, aged 27, who struck him on the forehead with a stick.

Too subsequently collapsed and was rushed to Neema Medical Center, and later, he was referred to Eldama Ravine Subcounty Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The assailant, Wesley Bett, is currently evading authorities, and efforts are underway to locate him.




Meanwhile, in Eldoret Town, the police are investigating the murder of a 32-year-old supermarket worker, Patrick Getuma. His lifeless body was discovered on a footpath near the Kipkaren-West Indies bridge on Wednesday morning. Preliminary findings suggest that the attendant was a victim of homicide, although the exact motive behind the incident remains unknown.

In a separate case in Karaba Market, Mbeere South, police are investigating the murder of a 56-year-old woman. Her husband is the prime suspect in this tragic incident, which occurred on Wednesday. The woman was strangled and subjected to a blunt object’s attack. As the investigation unfolds, the husband remains at large, and the deceased woman’s body has been transported to the mortuary, awaiting an autopsy and further inquiries.
